Expired: Junior Media Receivables Data Analyst

Millnet’s eDiscovery team are expanding and are looking to hire a Junior Media Receivables Data Analyst into its Media Management Team.

The Junior Media Receivables Data Analyst will report to the heads of both the Forensic and Processing divisions and work with all departments on properly managing electronic and physical media.  He/she will also perform various record keeping, billing and scheduling tasks.

The primary focus of this role is the provision of incoming data to the ESI Processing team, interfacing with the Project Management team to ensure all data is accounted for and chain of custody and instructions are properly documented for both incoming and outgoing data.

Below are some examples of the key activities this person will undertake:

Media Management

  • Data handling – Able to identify and mitigate errors common to various data sources, familiar with common data storage devices, adheres to best practices in data handling.
  • Data tracking – Track and organize all new client media that is received, as well as organize media collected; work with Project Managers and ESI Managers on media handling and returning media for our clients.
  • Evidence store – Assist in the development of systems for media inventory and safe storage practices, responsible for physical storage management.
  • Data transfer – Prepare data for transfer into ESI processing, including logical imaging of received devices, containerising loose data received, etc.
  • Work with forensic team to provide collected data to ESI processing.
  • Create forensic working copies of forensic collections for backup storage.
  • Properly track time, media and shipping charges into tracking system.
  • As available, perform various data analyst tasks for Processing and Forensic team members, to be able to develop skill sets in Litigation Support industry.

Data Analyst – ESI Processing

  • Understand common data containers (zip, rar, etc.) and safe handling of each.
  • Understand common media devices and deliverables (USB, DVD, SFTP, etc.) and safe handling of each.
  • Understand and recognise common file types (msg, pdf, doc), act as the first “line of defence” for data received and possible discrepancies with intake directions.

Data Analyst – Hosted Review Relativity

  • Understand good database “hygiene”, and its impact on client delivery.
  • Raise support queries with the relevant internal or external parties.
  • Respond to support queries from internal team members and propose solutions.
  • Perform the administration in relation to projects such as archiving, user management, and permissions management.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous technical work experience (desktop support or similar)
  • Highly IT literate with strong use of command line arguments, and SQL queries, etc.
  • Self-organisation and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System
  • Communication skills (written and oral) must be sufficient to be able to speak to and / or email members of staff in relation to specifications, questions, updates etc.
  • The ability to prioritise incoming requests from different areas (perform urgent, critical tasks or where there is a client impact in the appropriate order when the order of tasks is not directly instructed by a Supervisor or Manager).
  • Database skills including running queries, filtering and manipulation of data, importing and exporting data in various formats.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with FTK imager, EnCase, NUIX, Law, IPRO, or similar.
  • Experience with Relativity, Recommind, Ringtail, Summation, Concordance, or similar.
  • Education relating to IT or sufficient litigation support experience.
